Run For The Kids - Background
 

FAMILY OUTREACH believes PREVENTION IS THE KEY  to making our community safer for children through the efforts of trained, caring volunteers.

The following child abuse prevention programs are offered FREE to families in the community:

POSITIVE BEGINNINGS - A welcoming program that provides a gift basket of baby care items and resource material to help meet the needs of first time parents.

PARENT COACHING - A program that provides one-on-one in-home parent coaching services to help empower parents and strengthen parenting and problem solving skills while improving family relationships.

PARENT EDUCATION - Parenting classes and educational seminars help parents better understand themselves and their children . [SMALL FEE FOR STUDY BOOK]

WE HELP OURSELVES (WHO) - Teaches school -age children in the classroom how to recognize and protect themselves from violent and abusive situations and where and from whom to ask for help.

COMMUNITY AWARENESS - Public education and awareness about child abuse, prevention, good parenting, and the services offered by FAMILY OUTREACH.

HELPLINE - Emotional support, information, and referrals to community resources are provided to callers.
